Welcome to Winterglen Labradors !  We are a small hobby kennel located in Wasilla , Alaska amidst the picturesque Matanuska-Susitna Valley .

We believe in breeding and exhibiting the multi-faceted Labrador, which can go from the foot of the bed, to the show ring, and to the hunting blind all in a day’s work.

Our breeding philosophy is stringent, with an emphasis on temperament and type in our pursuit of the ideal Labrador .  Temperament is paramount to a true Labrador and is a hallmark of the breed.  Our dogs all have proper loving, gentle, loyal temperaments and will befriend man or beast. 

Just as important is the health and soundness of our Labradors .  Our dogs have the necessary health certifications.  Our breeding stock is x-rayed for elbow and hip dysplasia, and certified through the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals (OFA).  Our dogs are Optigen tested for progressive retinal atrophy (PRA), eyes are checked regularly through the Canine Eye Registration Foundation (CERF), and hearts are cleared by echocardiogram or auscultation.  We do these tests and exams in the hope we will breed the healthiest dogs possible.
